| What is it | A large and beautiful park in the heart of Sydney, consisting of forested and wild areas, planted/cultivated sections, grassy expanses, ponds, monuments, and much more. The park was officially dedicated in 1888 to celebrate 100 years of European settlement in Australia, and has since undergone continual development and improvement. To give an idea of size, the outer running trail traces a circumference of about 6.5km around the park. People come to it to walk, run, cycle, picnic, play sport and generally explore. |
| Main attractions | Venerable trees, wild forested areas, bird life, beautifully cultivated flower beds, ponds, statues and monuments, and an imposing and psychedelic structure (look up at the ceiling) called the Federation Pavilion, commemorating the inauguration of the Commonwealth of Australia in 1901 (although sometimes locked and not accessible). |
| Psychedelic Merit | A wonderful space for psychedelic adventures in the middle of the city – a whole day may easily be spent here exploring, sitting on grassy slopes or under ancient trees, and interacting with curious birds that might come up to you. |
| Comments | The park is large, but while you journey may feel small and constricting, as it is surrounded on all sides by main roads and traffic – these are personal considerations to take into account. If you are having a proper journey, best to do it on a weekday when there are less families with children about. |
